Youth Covenant of Conduct - College Grove UMC
When participating in activities with the youth group, we expect each student to conform to these rules of conduct. I will:
1. Respect the established guidelines and the adults who sponsor events.
2. Respect my body as God’s temple and not use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco.
3. Not bring firearms or weapons, of any kind this includes fireworks and lighters.
4. Keep my displays of affection within appropriate limits.
5. Remember that I am human and not perfect. I will take time to recover myself when I run out of patience. (Fighting will not be tolerated.)
6. Participate with the group, attend all meetings, and stay with the group as deemed necessary. Remember the buddy system.
7. Show respect for other people, their thoughts, their ideas, and their stuff. NO torturing anyone. NO initiations.
8. Maintain a positive attitude.
9. Use positive and appropriate language, including speaking with respect about people and groups of people. No derogatory words should be used to name or describe anyone or any group. Including members in your youth group.
10. Participate Fully in all activities. - Full Participation Includes the Following:
a. Treat each other with kindness.b. Participate with God as your focus.c. Be friendly and meet new people.d. Have fun.11. Wear appropriate clothing. I will not wear inappropriate logo’s on any of my clothing items. Remember this is a church event.
12. Stay in the hotel room or rooms designated for our use.
13. Respect all property.
Consequences for Violations of the Code
1. One verbal warning by an adult sponsor is given for first violation.
2. Parent/Guardian will be contacted for additional violations. At local activities, youth will be released to parent/guardian; or, if driving, youth may leave the property after the parent/guardian is notified. For out-of-town activities, after parent/guardian is contacted, the youth may be sent home early at the parent’s/guardian’s expense.
